Recently, Forbes China released the "2024-2025 Sustainable Development Industrial Enterprises" list, with 40 companies selected for the main list. Four companies from Jiaxing—Zhenshi Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Industry Co., Ltd., Weixing Chemical Co., Ltd., and Zhengtai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.—were among the 40, representing 10% of the national total, demonstrating their remarkable strength.

Industrial enterprises serve as a window for observing economic performance, and these high-performing enterprises are even more important as indicators of economic change. The four industrial enterprises have achieved a deep integration of technological innovation and green manufacturing, enhancing economic resilience. Jiaxing's strong performance has brought it into the spotlight, propelling its progress towards becoming a strong city of intelligent and green manufacturing innovation.

This selection process focused on five dimensions: "sustainable development management system, transformation technology innovation, sustainable development practices, long-term economic growth, and industry influence." From thousands of companies, 40 main-list companies were selected, representing a diverse range of over 10 sub-sectors, showcasing the depth and breadth of industrial green transformation.

Of these 40 companies, over 50% are in the new energy and high-end manufacturing sectors. The four Jiaxing companies, covering strategic emerging fields such as new energy and new materials, showed outstanding performance.

In the fabric workshop of Zhenshi's new material industrial park, rows of multi-axial weaving machines are working at full speed. These fabric products will be used in the world's longest onshore wind turbine blades. In the photovoltaic frame production workshop, black composite frames are coming off the production line in an orderly manner. These frames have only 15% of the carbon emissions of traditional photovoltaic frames and can meet the application needs of various photovoltaic scenarios, including offshore, desert, rooftop, and lake surface applications.

This industrial park has built a "30-minute local procurement circle," with over 90% of the raw materials sourced locally in Tongxiang, significantly shortening the logistics chain and reducing the carbon footprint.

Zhenshi's sustainable exploration goes beyond this. Looking up from the workshop, rows of photovoltaic panels are arranged in an array, converting solar energy into clean electricity. This is Tongxiang's largest single distributed photovoltaic rooftop parking lot, effectively alleviating the pressure of peak electricity consumption during summer heat and achieving closed-loop energy saving and carbon reduction.

This selection not only represents international recognition of the company's sustainable development governance system and green transformation practices, but also highlights the effectiveness of deepening "dual carbon" practices and empowering high-quality and sustainable development of enterprises.

In recent years, our city has accelerated the transition to a green and low-carbon development model, vigorously developing a green circular economy, focusing on intensive resource utilization, enhancing the resource recycling capacity of green transformation, and meticulously cultivating "green factories." Currently, there are a total of 76 "green factories" at the provincial level and above.

“We support and encourage enterprises to carry out clean production transformation in accordance with the national directory of encouraged clean production technologies, processes, equipment, and products, and vigorously promote energy-efficient cooling, washing, water recycling, wastewater reuse, and the replacement of high water-consuming production processes with water-saving processes and technologies,” said a relevant person in charge of the Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology.

Behind the "two-integration" transformation, there is not only the burst of vitality in the enterprise's development as manufacturing moves towards intelligent manufacturing, but also the development from "intelligence" to "quality." Looking to the future, Jiaxing will foster the emergence of more "digital" and "green" enterprises, striding forward on the path of high-quality development.
